As the title states, this post is going to be a major "put down" to those people that drink irresponsibly.
So today the bell rang for the school body to move to second period. I was taking my normal routine through the school and down the fine arts hallway towards the band hall and a girl (whose name shall remain anonymous) ran down the hall past me. I was like, o.k. maybe she really needed to get to the band hall for something until one of the assistant principals ran past me requesting "back up" in his radio.
According to another student, as she went past the corner running for the door to the outside, the principal shoved her towards the band hall in which she ran in, probably with hopes of running out the side door. The principal was to fast though; he pretty much pushed her into the band office and slammed the door. After the "back up" had arrived they continued to talk to her in the office while my band was trying to practice.
During a break when the band director was working with another section of the band, I was talking to friend beside me and he told me what had happened in the previous period. Sitting behind the girl, he said that she came to school drunk and then proceeded to pack herself a little mixer to get throughout the day. She told my friend that it was a nice little mix of Root Beer and Tequila.
Why would she be so stupid? I mean if you are going to be drunk, don't come to school number one and secondly, please keep your alcohol. Are you completely just asking for your ass to be hung out to dry? Come on now, we are high schoolers and if you do something you think you might possibly regret, don't do it in such a public place. People like you are why we (as high schoolers) have such a bad reputation to adult world. So thanks for your actions.
Off my tangent, we had the Champions recital tonight and my ensemble performed o.k. I suppose. We didn't do as well as on Saturday, but it was a pretty solid performance for us not having a single rehearsal since last Monday.
